Have you ever had a picnic on the beach at night? They are magical!
One of my besties, Silvia, and I started putting together luxe picnics for friends and family a couple of years ago. This photo is of one of the picnics we did at night. By enhancing the atmosphere at the beach through lighting and décor, we felt as if we’d been transported somewhere exotic, when we were at our local beach, which we visit regularly. It’s amazing how something so relatively simple brought us such joy.
It was a great reminder that 1) our surroundings can really be enhanced by the proper use of lighting and décor; and 2) that we often take the beautiful things in front of us for granted.
If you can’t make it to the beach, hang some string lights and buy some new cushions or place mats for your next outdoor gathering. Elevate your surroundings. Your friends and family will appreciate it, and most importantly, you will feel a sense of satisfaction from your efforts.
